On October 17, 2025, VEHRA’s Founder and Executive Director, Steven Muleme, had the honor of speaking at the United Nations, during a panel convened by the Permanent Missions of Norway and Thailand, in coordination with Outright International.
In his remarks, Steven shared the lived realities of LGBTQ+ people in Uganda and highlighted the transformative power of community-led action in advancing human rights, health, and social justice.
“Standing in that room reminded me why visibility and storytelling matter — because our voices, when heard, can spark the change we seek,” he reflected.
